Happy 2008

Happy New Year! Yeah, it’s January 9, but I’m a little behind on everything.

My big announcement for the year is that I’m no-kidding-really vegan now, or at least trying really hard! It’s something I feel I’ve been working up to for a while, I just had to stop pretending that I’m kinda sorta a little ok with a little animal exploitation now and then, because I’m really not. I watched Earthlings on Google video yesterday. It was not an easy thing to watch, but now I am surer than ever that I really need to do this for my own peace of mind as much as for the animals and the well being of the planet. So far so good, I feel awesome about the decision. :)

The Wisconsin primary is coming up in 2/19 so I’ve been doing a little research. I knew I liked Kucinich, but the more I read the more I love him. Check out this abolitionist-online interview. Plus his wife Elizabeth is awesome too, check out her amazing accomplishments.

I should probably update on more stuff, and I have pictures to post, but I’m not in much of a bloggy mood lately. Maybe over the weekend.

What about beer? Is that Vegan (I'm woefully stupid when it comes to this)...

Bloggy is perhaps the best word!! : )

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement everyone. It really doesn't feel too different from what I was doing before, therefore not that hard. I was already eating vegan most of the time, now I'm just cutting the crap and not making exceptions. I'm also trying to buy animal product free/no animal testing products and trying to avoid bee products as well. I love the TJ's nourish spa shampoo and conditioner, it does nice things for my hair. :)

Tabs – I hear ya, sometimes the world is just not set up for veg heads. But keep at it, there are ways to make it work!

glitter - There are many vegan beers (thank the powers that be!) but most vegans do avoid beer clarified using isinglass (ew, fish guts!) or those containing honey.

Happy New Year to you too!! Congrats on taking the final leap. Blog when you can. It's a lot of work to keep it up. We're all still creeping around, checking on each other.

Shan, Congrats on the veganism! More power to ya!
FYI Kucinich dropped out so time to pick a new horse. He dropped after Iowa. I would be interested in reading who your new pick is. For me I haven't totally decided yet - probably Edwards though....though maybe Clinton....we shall see. It's really anyone's race. I LOVE it!!!
Hope all is well - Costa Rica sends you Pura Vida wishes xoxo TBone.

Hello my name is Jennifer DeMain and I recently read a post by you about two beagles named Tarlee and Skilly. They were my beagles until about a year ago. I was out one day and when I came back they were gone. My mom gave them away. We had them for six years and I love them very much. If you have any information about the adopters or any information at all please let me know. I am so glad to hear that they are together again thats all I ever wanted. I think about them every day and would love to be able to see them and at least say goodbye.

thanks
Jenny D
